UK-Based Buyers
Buying to Let / Buying a Second Home: Includes the 3% surcharge on additional properties
Buying to Live: For main residence buyers who already own property
First-Time Buyer: Eligible for reduced SDLT on purchases up to £625,000
Overseas Buyers
Buying to Let / Second Home (Overseas Buyer): Includes the 2% non-resident surcharge
Buying to Live (Overseas Buyer): Standard tax with overseas surcharge
First-Time Buyer (Overseas Buyer): May be eligible for partial relief depending on circumstances, but surcharge still applies
